Floating Bye
Remember and celebrate the life of your loved one this Christmas
Join us for our special flower float beach ceremonies in remembrance of our loved ones. We pay tribute to the lives of those we have lost. If you can’t come to one of our ceremonies you can dedicate a flower for us to float.
Please make a donation to come to a ceremony or dedicate a flower.
Event Dates:
Waitangi: Sunday 9th December 10am
Ruakaka: Sunday 9th December 3pm
On the day we will have a short ceremony on the waterfront followed by a shared tea. You don’t need to bring flowers we will have them there. They will be floated on flower rafts especially designed by The Kaeo Flower Company to be biodegradable so as not to cause any harm to our ocean and the creatures in it.
Bring a blanket or a seat and take time to share the moment and your memories with those around you. Feel free to bring a picnic basket, at Waitangi the Bay Bliss coffee caravan will be serving hot drinks and smoothies and in Ruakaka the Bach Café will be open.
We would love to make this an annual ritual, knowing how tough this time of year is when you have lost that special person you once shared it with. At our Floating Bye ceremonies we will be taking time out to hold our dearest close.
How to be a part of Floating Bye:
